Just now fixed it. Initially the door looked unaligned with the lock. Thought defective piece and was thinking of returning. Then while reading the comments saw that fixing the door to the walls (when we adjust the nuts)the door correctly aligns. So it is not a misalignment and is a feature it seems. It was a breeze fixing the door and the extra 10 cm extension piece i bought. (though it was different in color black) Any body can fix it in 5 mins. The door closes automatically and tightly. very good product. you for it.
I am in love with this product. It has been the perfect rope off door for the kitchen to prevent and train my puppy from entering a restricted area.
It is quite easy to install, doesnt have to be drilled in place and is very sturdy. My GSD puppy tried to pounce on it a couple of times and was not able to even shake the door.
I will suggest users to thoroughly understand the measurements between their walls and then go for the right sized products though. Depending on size and stretch, the sturdiness might varry.
